Yoga of Technology
“Possible Technology Futures — visual meditation” by Kenan Azam, in collaboration with AI

Workshop : Designing Cosmological Technologies

This workshop moves through four stages:

Historical Precedents — an alternative history from other cultures and eras that approached what we call technology with radically different aspirations and mechanisms — surfacing these largely forgotten paradigms is one of our key research threads. Explore [the historical precedents →]

The Cosmological Framework — Sharing the intuitive discovery of rigorous methods for building technologies of well-being, grounded in the cosmological maps of Kashmir Shaivism and Sufism. We’re actively working out how to democratize these maps as a usable technology framework [see the frameworks →]. This is being done through the astrolabe prototype, and a new way of cataloguing technologies on a multi-dimensional cosmic map, rather than a historical one.

The Cataloguing Exercise — placing existing and emerging technologies on a multi-dimensional cosmic map, rather than a historical one — that shift changes the question entirely: not when a technology was made, but what level of reality it actually engages, or could engage.

Building the Prototype — from framework to functioning instrument, working through our own pilot technologies, and yours.

Experience : You are the StarGate!

This interactive presentation and group imagination explores the ancient hermetic maxim “as above, so below” — and its profound implications for one’s journey through life, as well as for the various technologies of travel, both inner and outer.

This workshop takes its name from the insight that gave StarGate Labs its own name: a meditation, years ago, that spoke plainly — you are the StarGate. Here, that recognition becomes a shared, interactive experience.

The Journey: The group imagination moves through consciousness, sacred geography and sound cosmology — and their interconnection and significance for us.

The Practice: A guided exercise concludes the session: using methods drawn from Giordano Bruno’s dials and Ibrahim Karim’s Dial of Qualities, participants will explore how to transform mundane artifacts into extraordinary perceptual doorways — leaving with a practice, not just an idea.
